At Animaga the other weekend, was chilling/browsing stalls while I heard a "vtuber concert" (IRyS) going on. Thought the singing was decent. Had a look around the corner at where it was happening, and saw on the big screen a shoulder-up of a barely-animated anime girl wiggling from side to side as her actor sung.
    I really don't get it.

This is very true. Her singing is damn impressive. So much so that a cover of hers years ago made everyone thought it was the original from Monogatari.

Although for a Monogatari fan like yourself you might be able to tell the difference.

    Its all about personality.

Damn, that is impressive. If you'd hadn't said anything I would have thought it was the original.
Also better than that "concert". I assume the tech and lag didn't capture the true essence.
